The Lotus flower symbolizes peace and refinement in Asia, where it is sacred to some cultures. This living flower that opens and closes with the passing days and nights has fascinated poets, painters and botanists since time immemorial. In this watch, it is sheltered under a sapphire crystal dome. Simply press the push-button at 2 o'clock, and it opens: the six gold petals polished and satin-brushed by hand unfurl to reveal a twirling briolette-cut sapphire or ruby in the heart of the Lotus flower, illuminating the gold of its petals.
The case, in 18kt red or white gold, measures 35mm x 12.7mm (17.4mm with automaton). It is set with 114 diamonds (1.40 carats). It has double sapphire crystals and it is water resistant to 30 meters.
Movement is the Swiss automatic Jaquet Droz in-house caliber 615 with 29 jewels, 21,600 vph and a power reserve of 38 hours. It has a silicon balance spring, pallet horns and a platinum rotor.
Functions are: centered hours and minutes. Mechanical opening flower automaton movement with 24 jewels. 18kt red or white gold petals. Briolette ruby or pink sapphire (0.30 carat) swivels both ways. Automaton mechanism triggered directly by pressing a push-button at 2 o'clock. Animation length: 6 to 8 seconds.
It has a white mother-of-pearl dial with an 18kt red or white gold ring with studded motif. Small white mother-of-pearl dial under the flower with 18kt red or white gold ring. 18kt red or white gold hands with curved contours. It can be had with 88 diamonds (0.17 carat).
It comes on a rolled-edge hand-made brown or black alligator leather strap with an 18kt red or white gold folding clasp.
