Frederique Constant has a long-standing involvement with the world of classic cars. In 2016, these many years of tradition are now being continued, as Frederique Constant has been chosen to be the official timekeeper of the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge, organised by the Endurance Rally Association.
On Sunday, July 17th as the drivers of the Peking to Paris rally drove through Paris to the Place Vendôme, nearly 90 percent of the cars that departed from Peking crossed the finish line. After 36 days crossing 15 frontiers, driving more than 13,000 kilometers through the greatest land-mass between two capital cities and the biggest wilderness in the world.
Last week, more than 100 glass trophies were presented during an award gala diner, which was organised to celebrate the outstanding achievement of the Peking to Paris adventurers at the Intercontinental Hotel in Paris. During the dinner, Frederique Constant founder & CEO, Peter Stas, congratulated all the participants of the Peking to Paris rally and expressed his pride to be part of this adventure.
He commented, "Frederique Constant is proud to be associating with Peking to Paris, which is one of the oldest vintage cars rally in Europe. This partnership with Peking to Paris is not a simple collaboration, it's a sharing of values and passions for mechanics, for tradition and friendships."
As part of its official timekeeper role, Frederique Constant was delighted to award to the winning team the 2016 Vintage Rally Peking to Paris limited edition watch. An exclusive timepiece inspired by the classic cars that took part in the Peking to Paris race.
Technical Specifications:
The case, in stainless steel, measures 40mm. It has a convex sapphire crystal and it is water resistant to 50 meters. The roadmap and the logo of the Peking to Paris rally is engraved on the caseback of the watch.
Movement is the Swiss automatic Frederique Constant caliber FC-303 with 26 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 38 hours.
It has a silvered dial with burgundy ring and applied pearl black luminous indeces. Date display at 3 o'clock. Hand polished pearl black hour and minute hands with SuperLuminova.
It comes on a dark grey leather strap with red stitching and a steel buckle. It is delivered in a presentation box with an engraving of the 2016 Peking to Paris route.
