This year marks the 9th edition of the renowned Only Watch charity auction and also the 200th anniversary of the inking chronograph created by Nicolas Rieussec. To celebrate both important milestones, Montblanc pays tribute to both events with the creation of the Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph Only Watch'21 Unique Piece that will be auctioned together with a functional wooden replica of the historical chronograph from 1821, and an exclusive immersive high watchmaking experience.
In addition to the one-of-a-kind timepiece and historic chronograph replica, the successful bidder will receive a special invitation to a unique experience at the Montblanc Manufacture in Villeret in the beautiful area of the Jura mountains. The lucky owner will have the opportunity to discover the know-hows and craftsmanship of the Manufacture and assemble one Montblanc Manufacture Calibre MB R200 with the master watchmaker that has assembled its unique piece - a true experience.
Technical Specifications:
The case, in 18kt yellow gold, measures 43mm x 15mm. It has a domed AR-coated sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back with Only Watch Unique Piece engraving, and it is water resistant to 50 meters. Crown in 18kt yellow gold with mother-of-pearl Montblanc emblem.
Monopusher for the chronograph at 8 o'clock.
Movement is the Swiss automatic Montblanc in-house caliber MB R200 with 40 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 3 days. Chronograph monopusher with column-wheel and vertical disc clutch. 18kt yellow gold rotor with either Only Watch 2021 or personalized engraving. It features a falt hairspring, Rhodium-coated plate with circular graining, Rhodium-coated bridges with Côtes de Genève finishing. Functions are: Off-centered hour and minute hands, second timezone on same axis as hour- and minute-hands with day/night display. Date window at 6 o'clock. 60 elapsed-second and 30 elapsed-minute counters on rotating discs with central motionless fixed double index. Travel function with rapid reset of hour-hand and date display either forward or backward. Certified by the Montblanc Laboratory Test 500.
Gold-colored dial with guilloché pattern, white lacquered domed hour-circle with gold-colored sunray-finishing in the center and black colored Roman numerals, filet sauté guilloché around the dial, blued leaf hour and minute hands, orange-colored skeletonized second timezone hand, gold-colored titanium domed chronograph counters discs with satin-finishing, orange-colored fixed double index.
It comes on a brown alligator leather strap with orange stitching and lining, and an 18kt yellow
gold pin buckle.
It is delivered in a walnut burl case.
