For the third time, a Ferdinand Berthoud Chronometer has been shortlisted for the Grand Prix d"Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG).
Now, the Manufacture is providing the intimate details of a unique movement - and publishing the figures for its Chronometric performance, complete with supporting documentation.
In the GPHG Chronometry category in which this chronometer movement is competing, the crucial criterion is accuracy and to achieve the ultimate in accuracy, the Chronomètre FB 2RE.2 offers a new combination of two regulation mechanisms: a one-second remontoir d'égalité mechanism, allied with the constant force of a fusee-and-chain mechanism.

Subjected to the Fleuritest, one of the most demanding in the watchmaking industry, the Chronomètre FB 2RE.2 returns unprecedented results in conditions simulating the movements of a watch on the wrist.
Over the entire duration of the power reserve, the readings taken show discrepancies of less than 0.5 seconds on average from the benchmark GPS clock optical measurement. For the FB 2RE.2 model, there is thus very little difference in running time between the first and the last minute.
