The Arceau L'heure de la Lune watch offers a unique vision of Earth's satellite with the simultaneous display of moonphases in both Northern and Southern hemispheres. Two mobile counters gravitate on a lunar, Martian or Black Sahara meteorite dial, revealing mother-of-pearl moons.
Technical Specifications:
The case, in platinum, or in 18kt white gold, measures 43mm. It has double sapphire crystals and it is water resistant to 30 meters.
Movement is the Swiss automatic Hermès Manufacture in-house caliber H1837 with 28 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 50 hours. Circular-grained and snailed baseplate, satin-brushed bridges and rotor with signature "H" pattern. It features an exclusive "L'heure de la lune" module with 14 jewels and polished and bead-blasted bridges. Functions are: hours, minutes, date, double moonphase (display of moonphases seen from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres).
The mobile counters displaying the time and date turn weightlessly to reveal the moon discs, while maintaining their horizontal orientation. This is done via a module exclusively developed for Hermès and for which a patent has been filed. With a total thickness of just 4.2 mm, its 117 polished and bead-blasted components are incorporated within the Manufacture Hermès H1837 caliber: a technical challenge designed to preserve the slenderness of the overall mobile chassis, which sweeps around the dial in 59 days.
