For the 70th anniversary of the first use of Luminor, a self-luminous substance based on tritium dating from 1950 which became an aesthetic and functional expression of the brand, Panerai introduces a Luminor that is guaranteed for 70 years. Throughout this period Panerai will maintain the good working order of the client's watch as necessary under the terms and conditions of the international warranty.
Using an evolved SuperLuminova "X1", Panerai is able to ensure a higher intensity and a longer lasting persistence of the luminous material applied throughout the watch.
The opaque, uneven texture that is a feature of Fibratech enhances the watch's appearance. Mineral fibres used in FibratechTM are coming from fusion of basalt rock and minerals additive. These fibres are bound with high-end polymers to become thin layers which are superimposed in a precise orientation and then consolidated through a pressure and temperature controlled process.
Technical Specifications:
The case, in Fibratech, measures 44mm x 14.5mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal, a caseback in micro-sandblasted titanium (engraved with the words "70 Years Warranty"), and it is water resistant to 300 meters.
Movement is the wiss automatic Panerai in-house caliber P.9010 with 31 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 3 days. It features a Glucydur balance, an Incabloc anti-shock device, and two barrels. Functions are: hours, minutes, small seconds, and date.
It has an Anthracite dial with sunray finish, sandwich structure, with Arabic numerals and hour markers with SuperLumiova. "Luminor Marina" and "Panerai" luminous inscriptions, "Automatic" in white decal. Small seconds at 9 o'clock, date at 3 o'clock. Luminescent ring round the flange.
The strap, in Sportech, black with luminescent sewing, with Velcro closure and sandblasted titanium ring. Additional strap in black rubber with trapezoid titanium clasp buckle.
It is delivered with a special tool for changing strapst and a personalised box decorated with a luminous image of the iconic Luminor Marina dial on the lid.
