Honoring the Chinese New Year Limited Edition of 8 Pieces
A tiny monkey, deftly suspended from a glittering gemstone, glints on a backdrop of pink and gold: this enchanting spectacle has been dreamed up by the artisans of Harry Winston Timepieces to celebrate Chinese New Year. The Year of the Monkey begins this February 8th.
The monkey is the ninth of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac and a ubiquitous symbol of Chinese culture.
Technical Specifications:
The case, in 18kt rose gold, measures 36mm x 8.4mm. It has double sapphire crystals and it is water resistant to 30 meters. It features 57 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 2.32 carats).
Movement is the Swiss automatic Harry Winston caliber HW2008 with 28 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 46 hours. It features a flat silicon balance spring, rhodium plating, circular graining and Côtes de Genève decoration.
The pink mother-of-pearl dial, enhanced with flecks of 24kt gold, each set one by one in individually carved hollows. An 18kt gold monkey with a diamond for an eye hangs against the backdrop, as if grasping the bezel at 9 o'clock, while his tail winds effortlessly around an emerald-cut diamond at 12 o'clock. By using appliqué and marquise-cut openwork, evocative of Jianzhi a prized Chinese art form used for centuries to convey lifelong prosperity Harry Winston's craftsmen bring the design to life.
It comes on a black technological satin strap with an 18kt rose gold ardillon buckle set with 17 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 0.15 carats).
