Antiquorum looks forward to its upcoming auction of "Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces" to be held on December 15 at its US headquarters located at 805 Third Avenue in New York City. A selection of 255 collectable timepieces will be presented in the sale highlighted by an exceptional collection of complicated Patek Philippe wristwatches including an extremely rare Patek Philippe Ref. 5016 Tourbillon Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar; a Patek Philippe Ref. 5213 Minute Repeater Retrograde Perpetual Calendar; and a Patek Philippe Ref. 5539 Tourbillon Minute Repeater with Black Enamel Dial. Prior to the auction, previews will be held in Hong Kong, Singapore and New York.
The highlight of the sale is the Patek Philippe Ref. 5016 Tourbillon Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar in Yellow Gold. The Patek Philippe reference 5016 is one of the most complicated wristwatches ever produced by the legendary firm and stands in a long tradition of extremely fine and highly complicated mechanical timepieces. It is greatly admired by enthusiasts for its combination of unparalleled aesthetics and technological prowess, combining retrograde perpetual calendar, minute repeater and tourbillon in a classic, timeless case design. Produced in 2003, the present example is an extremely rare and important astronomic, minute repeating 18K yellow gold wristwatch with one-minute regulator, retrograde calendar and moon phases.
