The new Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Limited Edition pays tribute to history. 50 years ago, mankind took its very first steps onto the surface of the moon. The Omega Speedmaster was there, strapped to the wrists of the astronauts, and this year, we're paying tribute to the mission's lasting legacy, with the new Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Limited Edition model of 1,014 pieces.
Marking the golden anniversary of the Omega watch that was gifted to astronauts in 1969 to celebrate the first moon landing, Omega has produced this Speedmaster driven by the manual-winding Omega Master Chronometer Calibre 3861.
Inspired by the piece of 1969, a few touches of burgundy have been added, including the ceramic bezel ring, the markings on the caseback and the movement.
Technical Specifications:
The case, in Moonshine gold, measures 42mm x 14mm. It has a flat AR-coated sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back, and it is water resistant to 50 meters. Burgundy Ceragold bezel with tachymeter. The inner decorative caseback ring features a partial world map of the American continent and a domed lunar meteorite inlay, representing the true proportions of the Earth and the Moon.
Movement is the Swiss manual-wind Omega in-house caliber 3861 with 26 jewels, 21,600 vph and a power reserve of 50 hours. It features a Co-Axial escapement and a free-sprung balance with silicon balance spring. Gold plated finish, bridges with straight Geneva waves. It is certified as a Master Chronometer, approved by METAS, and is resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss.
It has a vertically brushed step dial, done in 18kt Moonshine gold, that includes facetted onyx hour markers. Varnished black hands.
It comes on a 20mm 18kt Moonshine gold bracelet.
MSRP is 32,000 Swiss Francs. It is offered with a five year warranty. Available in stores in July 2019.
