In 2019 Bvlgari pays tribute to the Gérald Genta brand's 50th anniversary with the unveiling of a special jumping hours platinum edition.
Watch aficionados will know that Bvlgari acquired Gérald Genta in 2000, a brand founded in 1969 by the eponymous designer and watch master genius. 50 years later, his expertise, soul and most of the company's highly skilled watchmakers have been integrated into Bvlgari's state-of-the-art manufacture in Le Sentier, Switzerland. The launch of this watch, which bears the original Gérald Genta logo on the dial, pays homage to the role that this one-time legendary brand has played in Bvlgari's watchmaking success over the past 18 years.
Technical Specifications:
The case, in polished platinum, measures 41mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal and a sapphire display back.
Movement is the Swiss automatic Bvlgari by Gerald Genta in-house caliber BVL300 with 33 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 42 hours. Functions are: jumping hours, retrograde minutes (210°) and date (180°).
The dial is blue lacquer with white gold hands.
It comes on a blue alligator leather strap with a platinum folding clasp.
