Guernsey's Auction Brings Together African American Historic & Cultural Treasures
Guernsey's, the New York City-based auction house, will hold an auction on July 25th and 26th, this auction will include items that are of huge cultural and historical importance.
Long considered one of jazz' greatest piano players, Art Tatum died at age 47. Now, more than sixty years later, his estate, thru Guernsey's, is auctioning many of Mr. Tatum's most enduring treasures.
At the very height of his popularity in the early 1950s, Frank Sinatra gave Art Tatum this Bulova wristwatch inscribed on the back: "TO ART TATUM FROM FRANK SINATRA"
