Blancpain is reinterpreting this year its flying tourbillon, which was the first of its kind to equip a wristwatch at the time of its launch in 1989. At Baselworld 2018, the Manufacture is pairing it with new complications jump hours and retrograde minutes in the Villeret Tourbillon Volant Heure Sautante Minute Rétrograde model.
The case, in 18kt red gold (non-limited, Limited Edition of 20 Pieces in Platinum), measures 42mm x 11mm. It has double sapphire crystals and it is water resistant to 30 meters.
Movement is the Swiss manual-wind Blancpain in-house caliber 260MR with 39 jewels, 21,600 vph and a power reserve of 144 hours. Bridges are adorned with guilloché pattern. Ratchet-wheel with beveled wheel-rim design. Power reserve indicator via a guilloché disk.
It has a gold champlevéand white grand feu enamel dial. Diamond-polished gold rings around the hours window as well as the tourbillon porthole.
It comes on a 23mm dark brown alligator leather strap with an 18kt red or white gold folding clasp. A bracelet is also available.
