The New Reference Work on the Maison
On the occasion of its 260th anniversary, the Geneva-based Manufacture is publishing a book retracing its epic story, narrated by Franco Cologni.

Since September 17th 1755, when Jean-Marc Vacheron laid the foundations of the company by hiring his first apprentice, Vacheron Constantin has ceaselessly expressed its passion for Fine Watchmaking through its values. In giving the firm a commercial dimension from 1819 onwards, François Constantin established its worldwide renown. A reputation that was acknowledged by the greatest collectors: Reference 57260, a bespoke creation, is now part of the rich history of the Manufacture alongside the famous pocket watches made for James W. Packard, the Count of Boisrouvray as well as kings Fouad and Farouk of Egypt.

This publication written by Franco Cologni invites readers on a journey to the heart of an astonishing saga peppered with original anecdotes. Pictures by photographer Bruno Ehrs portray a range of expertise and artistic crafts, aesthetic harmony and elegant finishes, unveiling watches from the brand's heritage collection as well as from private collections, alongside archive documents and more recent models.

This extremely well documented art book will doubtless become a reference work for all those who follow the Maison with passionate interest.
