Paul Dunne, Renato Paratore and Danny Willett travelled to Le Brassus, cradle of watchmaking and of Audemars Piguet, to visit the Swiss watchmaker's workshops for the first time.
After an exciting visit of the museum and of the restauration workshop, all three golfers tried their luck at assembling a watch movement for the first time. "It's incredible to see the skills of the watchmakers at work and how Audemars Piguet's timepieces come alive" said Danny Willett. His colleague Renato Paratore added, "It's a great experience to come here in the Vallée de Joux to learn about the brand's origins".
Later on, Audemars Piguet Chief Executive Officer and former golf professional François-Henry Bennahmias decided to challenge them on their short game. He first dared them to hit five balls into the A of the « floral » AP monogram in front of the headquarters. The second challenge was to hit five chip shots aiming at a target while using a concrete board as a rebound platform for the ball. The last challenge was about speed, with each ambassador trying to hole as many putts as possible in 60 seconds. Paul Dunne won this last competition, bringing home the victory.
Within each golfer beats the heart of a watchmaker. Self-control, meticulous time management, love of perfection: whether on a green or in the universe of Haute Horlogerie, it is always a question of precision, the beauty of both gesture and performance.
